YEEEHAW! SADDLED UP TO RIDE!
Welcome to the team! The Berryhills! AQHA Professional Horseman and Judge Leonard Berryhill is a multidiscipline horseman in an era of specialization. He competes in everything from tie-down roping to western pleasure. He grew up competing in youth events at AQHA and Palomino Horse Breeders of America shows.
Leonard and his wife, Leigh train and coach all-around riders and ropers from Berryhill Quarter Horses in Talala, Oklahoma. They have been married for 19 years and have one son, Thompson, who competes in AQHA roping events.
Leonard Berryhill has won more World Champions than any one exhibitor. Leigh Berryhill was High Point in the Nation for 1981 and 1983 and has more than 20 Palomino Congress trophies and has won the Palomino Congress High Point three times. During her 3 years in amateur, she won the Golden Horse twice and the Reserve Golden Horse once, along with many other huge accomplishments.
Leigh specializes in the all-around, while Leonard specializes in western riding and roping. With champion horses such as Mr. Gold Leaguer, Better Than the Rest and Vital Signs are Good, we are thrilled to have them apart of our Max Family as they truly have what it takes to be winners. Leigh said “she went into horse training more for the people than the horses” and Leonard’s reasons for becoming a horse trainer; “for the love of the game.”
